An Update from Bodega Magazine
On August 31st, 2025—after the publication of our 150th issue—Bodega is closing up shop. It has been a remarkable 13 years of publishing new and established voices in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, and we are forever grateful to our entire community for this experience. Everyone who has read Bodega, trusted us to publish their work, and donated their time and money to keep us going has left a permanent impression on our hearts.
This is a bittersweet ending for us. We will miss creating monthly glimpses into the world of contemporary literature and elevating emerging writers, but the time is right for this project to come to an end.
Though we will stop publishing, we are committed to keeping Bodega’s archives online, and you will continue to be able to revisit pieces you have written or enjoyed reading.
In the fall, we will transition to an archival version of the site. We’re still working out the logistics, but it is possible that when we do, our urls will change (you will still be able to find us at bodegamag.com, but urls for individual pages may be different). If you link to any Bodega content on your own website or portfolio, you may need to update these links. If you have any issues finding your work, please reach out to us and we will help you.
If you have submitted work and have not heard back from us yet, rest assured that although our submissions are closed, we are still reading. If you sent us work you still have an opportunity to be published in our final issues.
Thank you for being a part of Bodega to the very end. This has been an amazing journey, and we could not have done it without you.
With gratitude, and to whatever comes next,
Cat, Melissa, Tonissa, and the Bodega team
